COFEIN

COFEIN is a female fronted rock band from Bulgaria. When the band was formed in September 2003 in Plovdiv by Tsvetan Karabov and Pavel Alainov, it was called “Tiramisu”. Until the end of 2006 they played only covers, made club tours and presented the show “TRIBUTE TO WORLD POP/ROCK MUSIC”. They started making their own music and their first single “Dream” won the “Bulgarian talent of the month” contest on “BG–Radio”, and the second single “My white love” was among the finalists at the international pop-rock contest “Sarandev” in Dobrich. They took part in the Eurovision Song Contest with their song “Is It a Sign?” and reached number 5 (2008). After that the band was offered a record deal from an American label, but the band had to give it up because unfortunately one of the most important members Pavel Alainov left the group. The band started a number of changes in the line-up, at the end of 2010 they had a new image, new style Heavy Rock and a brand new name COFEIN. With a little nostalgic sense in 2010 they released the song “So Beautiful” which peaked at number 1 on the “Kamenitza Rock 40” chart on “Z–Rock” radio, and stayed there for six weeks. With the same song the band appeared in the International Song Competition (ISC 2010) in Nashville USA, they were among the semifinalists and was added in a list of the best 70 rock songs in the world of 2010. Their first EP "SUPERDANGEROUS" was released in May 2012 and until the end of the year the first album is going to be released.

 

COFEIN はブルガリアの女性ボーカルロックバンドで、Tsvetan Karabov と Pavel Alainov によって2003年9月に作られましたが、当初は "Tiramisu" というバンド名でした。 2006年末までは、カバーバンドとしてクラブなどを渡り歩いては "TRIBUTE TO WORLD POP/ROCK MUSIC" と名付けたライブを展開していました。 その後オリジナル曲を作り始め、最初に出したシングル "Dream" が "BG-Radio" のコンテスト "Bulgarian talent of the month" に選ばれ、セカンドシングル "My White Love" も Dobrich の国際 POP-ROCK コンテスト "Sarandev" で決勝まで残りました。 また、2008年には "Is It A Sign?" の曲でユーロビジョンにも参加し5位に入りました。 その後バンドは アメリカのレーベルから契約の申し込みを受けるも、バンドの主要人物であった Pavel Alainov の脱退により断念しています。 新しくサウンドやスタイルを模索すべくラインナップを変更し、2010年末に Heavy Rock に移行し、バンド名も現在の COFEIN に改名しました。 同年、少しノスタルジックな曲 "So Beautiful" をリリースし、"Z-ROCK" ラジオの "Kamenitza Rock 40" というチャートでは 6週間続けて1位になるなど大ヒットしました。 また、アメリカのナッシュビルで、The International Song Competition (ISC 2010) に出場し準決勝まで残り、世界のロックソングベスト70に加わりました。 彼らのファースト EP "SUPERDANGEROUS" は今年5月にリリースされ、年内にはファーストアルバムも出る予定になっています。
