VAN CANTO [Germany]

VAN CANTO plays heavy metal a capella in Germany. It has a drums which is only one instrument in the band. The drummer is Bastian Emig (standing 2nd from the right) who is the producer and singer/piano player in IN LEGEND that I presented on my radio show ROCK OR DIE Monthly in September 3rd. Van Canto is a famous artist in Germany and appears often on a radio and television. Their amazing voice guiter performance hit people at live house and even at an open-air venue. This performing idea came from Stef (standing on center) who formed the band. He wanted to do something incredible with only vocals. Higher rakkatakka vocals Ross (standing on the right) reports the big event Wacken Open Air Festival on video sometimes as an interviewer. On May 17th, both VAN CANTO and IN LEGEND appeared together on Radio Paranoid in Germany. Their 3rd album "Tribe Of Force" was released in February 2010. Also the DVD includes live video and some clips was released. The Japanese version has a bonus track "Magic Taborea" collaborated with an orchestra. It is available at amazon Japan in Japan. 先日9月3日に ROCK OR DIE Monthly で紹介した IN LEGEND のプロデュ－サーでもあるボーカルの Bastian Emig (画像右から2番目に立っている) が、バンドで唯一の楽器ドラムスを担当しているドイツのヘビーメタル・ア・カペラバンド VAN CANTO (ファン・カントウ) です。 そもそも Stef (画像中央に立っている) の 「ボーカルだけで何かをやりたい！」 という願望で結成したバンドですが、本国ドイツでは ラジオやテレビなどにも多く出演する人気ぶりで、ア・カペラとはいえ、ライブハウスや野外ステージでさえも大変な盛り上がりようです。 ギターの爆音に慣れている人には、新鮮でもあり物足りなさも感じる一味違うメタルサウンドです。 高音ボイスの Ross (画像の右端に立っている) は、ドイツ最大のロックイベント Wacken Open Air Festival のビデオリポーターなどもやってます。 5月17日 IN LEGEND と一緒に ドイツの Radio Paranoid の特別番組にも出演していました。 今年2010年2月に通算3枚目となるアルバム "Tribe Of Force" をリリース。 日本盤にはボーナストラックとして、"Magic Taborea" というオーケストラとのコラボ楽曲が収録されていますが、彼らの歌声はそれに負けてません！ 今回は ライブ映像やビデオクリップを収めた DVD も発売されています。 日本では amazon Japan にて購入可能です。 VAN CANTO はビデオ映像が多いので、彼らの YouTube チャンネルもチェックしてみてください。
