New Release - BONFIRE

5 piece hard rock band from Ingolstadt Germany, who formed under the name of BONFIRE in 1986 and still the fire burns strongly. Now they have a new EP "Cry For Help" to be release from LZ Records on May 25, 2012 after the band released the album called "Fireworks...Still Alive" in 2011. Ever since being animal lovers the long-lasting band BONFIRE really liked the idea of making a new version of their song "Cry 4 Help". Originally released on the album "Double X" in 2007, and this one has always been a fan favourite. Maybe also because of the strong statement in the lyrics:

 

Who sheds a tear for the crocodile that you carry as a bag?

Does your mink coat still keep you warm when you think about its fate?

It ain't just another protest song about laboratory crimes

It's also a cry for help for the cowards of our time

 

The new version is a special EP with different versions completed by two bonus tracks. 1€ out of each copy is donated to the Animal Protection Organisation PETA. It is available on amazon.com. Says singer Claus Lessmann: “It feels really good that the song has a second life now and we can now release it in cooperation with the animal protection organisation PETA.” At the end of March 2012 the band went over to the Ukraine to play a festival and a headlining show, and also to get an impression of the recent unbelievable mistreatment of street dogs in the country and talk to the authorities and the people. Preceding the Soccer European Championships in the Ukraine and Poland later in the year, the Ukrainian government has allowed to “clean” the streets by killing hundreds and thousands of those innocent animals. BONFIRE says "stop the senseless killing now" and would be happy about your support.

 

ドイツのインゴルシュタット出身の5人組みハードロックバンド BONFIRE は1986年結成のバンドですが、彼らの音楽は今だに激しく炎上し続けています。 2011年に "Fireworks... Still Alive" というアルバムをリリースした後、今度は2012年5月25日に EP "Cry For Help" を LZ Records よりリリース予定です。 長く活動してきている BONFIRE は以前からずっと動物好きだったので、 "Cry 4 Help" のニューバージョンを作ることには大変乗り気でした。 もともとは2007年リリースのアルバム "Double X" に収録されていた曲で、ファンにとても人気があります。その理由は歌詞に含まれている下記の文言にあるのかもしれません。

 

手に持ってるワニ革のバッグに涙を流す者なんかいるかい？

その運命を考えたら、それでもミンクのコートは温いかい？

よくある動物実験に抗議している歌なんかじゃないんだ

今生きてる臆病な者たちの救いを求める叫びなんだよ

 

ニューバージョンは、2曲のボーナストラックで作られた異なるバージョンを入れた特別な EP です。 1枚につき1€ (約104円前後) が動物保護団体 PETA に寄付されます。 この EP は、日本では6月4日より amazon Japan にて購入できます。 バンドのボーカル Claus Lessmann は 「この曲が第2の人生を迎えたことと、動物保護団体 PETA の協力で こうしてリリースできてとても嬉しいよ」 と コメントしています。 2012年3月、バンドは現地でのフェスティバルやヘッドラインライブのためウクライナを訪れています。 また この訪問は、最近知った現地の野良犬に対する信じ難い虐待について 当局や人々と 話すためでもありました。 ウクライナ政府は、本国とポーランドで開催されるサッカーのヨーロッパ選手権大会に先だって、何百何千という罪のない動物を街中から抹殺するという「美化作戦」を許可していたのです。 「無分別な殺害を止めよう！」 と BONFIRE は 唱えています。 みなさんのご協力をお願いします。
