New Release - DEATH SS

Italian Heavy Metal band DEATH SS led by Steve Sylvester, will release the 8th studio album "Resurrection" through Scarlet Records on July 30th. Since that was some 7 years ago in 2006 when the band’s latest album "The Seventh Seal" came out, the new album truly is their resurrection. "Resurrection" alternates the two topics that have always been the main inspirations behind the Death SS project: horror movies and occultism. For the first time ever, Steve wanted to add another one of his main influences in a more explicit way: the Italian sexy-horror comics of the 70's. The beautiful illustrations used for the album cover and booklet were handled by the great "maestro" Emanuele Taglietti, an internationally renowned painter and author of all the covers of cult adult comics such as ‘Belzeba’, ‘Zora’, ‘Sukia’, ‘Cimiteria’, ‘La Poliziotta’ to name a few. A big change happened also on the production front. It is a remarkable point that, for the first time after the release of ‘Black Mass’ in 1989, Steve produced the album himself without the supervision of a well known or external producer, simply relying on the experience he has matured in almost 35 years of career in the music business. 

Steve Sylvester 率いるイタリアのヘビーメタルバンド DEATH SS が、8作目のスタジオ・アルバム "Resurrection" を7月30日、Scarlet Records よりリリースします。 このアルバムは、日本では7月9日より amazon Japan にて購入可能です。 バンドが最後にアルバム "The Seventh Seal" を出したのが約7年前の2006年のことでしたので、この新作はまさにバンドの resurrection (復活) と言えます。 "Resurrection" は、常に DEATH SS プロジェクトのひらめきとなった 「ホラー映画」 と 「オカルティシズム」 という2つの題材を交互に取り入れています。 今回初めて Steve は、より露骨な方法で彼が影響を受けたものの中でも別のもの (70年代のイタリアのセクシー・ホラーコミック) を加えようとしています。 アルバムの カバージャケット や ブックレット に使用されるイラストは、巨匠 Emanuele Taglietti が手がけています。 彼は 世界的に有名な画家であり "Belzeba" とか "Zora"、 "Sukia"、 "Cimiteria"、 "La Poliziotta" といった大人向けのカルト・コミックのカバー制作者でもあります。 1989年 "Black Mass" リリース後初めて、 Steve が音楽業界で培った 約35年間の自らの経験だけを頼りに、有名なスーパーバイザーや 外部のプロデューサーを起用せずに自分でプロデュースを行ったことも注目すべき点です。
