MY WOODEN PILLOW [UK]

MY WOODEN PILLOW is a female fronted HardCore Metal band from the UK. After a new singer Michelle Adamson (ex Joycopter) joined the band, they released the video for "Vein Of Affliction", won the regional 'Metal to the Masses' competition and played the New Blood Stage at Bloodstock Festival in 2012. The band combines elements of Thrash, Death, NY HardCore and Rock influenced by various bands such as Sepultura, Motörhead, Dead Kennedy’s, Dead Can Dance, Walls of Jericho, Sacrilege, Skunk Anansie, Bauhaus, Arch Enemy, Coroner, Henry Rollins Band, One Minute Silence, Bad Brains, Discharge, Suicidal Tendencies, Madball, White Zombie, Dub War, At the Gates, Carcass, and Bolt Thrower, with lyrics about the environmental, social and political events of our time as a form of social commentary. On their latest EP “Uncomfortable” released on December 21st 2014, they demonstrated it and it was received some amazing reviews from the press. The EP was recorded, mixed and mastered at Skyhammer Studios by Chris Fielding (Napalm Death, Electric Wizard, Winterfylleth, Dyscarnate, Porcupine Tree). MY WOODEN PILLOW has already started to work on a follow up full album due for release in January 2016, working again with Chris Fielding at Skyhammer Studios.

MY WOODEN PILLOW は 英国の女性ボーカルハードコアメタルバンドです。 元 Joycopter の Michelle Adamson をボーカルとして迎えてから "Vein Of Affliction" のビデオを発表し、Metal To The Masses の地方大会を勝ち抜き、2012年の Bloodstock Festival の New Blood Stage に出演しています。 バンドは、現代の社会・政治に対する総体的な批評を歌詞に表現しながら、Sepultura とか Motörhead、Dead Kennedy’s、Dead Can Dance、Walls of Jericho、Sacrilege、Skunk Anansie、Bauhaus、Arch Enemy、Coroner、Henry Rollins Band、One Minute Silence、Bad Brains、 Discharge、Suicidal Tendencies、Madball、White Zombie、Dub War、At the Gates、Carcass、Bolt Thrower など多種多様なバンドたちの影響を受けた ロックやスラッシュ、ニューヨークハードコアの要素を取り入れています。 2014年12月21日にリリースした最新作の EP "Uncomfortable" でそれを実証し、報道関係から素晴らしい評価を受けました。 その EP は、Chris Fielding (Napalm Death、Electric Wizard、Winterfylleth、Dyscarnate、Porcupine Tree) によって SKYHAMMER Studios で レコーディングからミキシング、マスタリングされました。 残念ながら日本での販売はありませんが、バンドの BandCamp ページで購入可能です。 MY WOODEN PILLOW は、再度 Skyhammer Studios の Chris Fielding と来年2016年1月リリース予定のフルアルバムに取り掛かっていています。
