KARTZAROT [Spain]

KARTZAROT is a Hard/Heavy Rock band from Bilbao in Northern Spain and started in 1989. The band released some demos three times and played frequently in the local area for 10 years, but the band has disbanded once in 1999. They are influenced by Michael Schenker and the new wave of British heavy metal, and played Rock music with the American hard rock and the Deep Purple saga sound. In 2013, three original members (guitars and voice) met again and started again with a new line-up. The band released their debut album “Arima Ez Da Galtzen” (The Soul Is Not Lost) by self-produce in 2015, containing 7 songs of Hard Rock, Heavy Metal tunes, even a ballad. The lyrics are written about denouncement of social issues in modern societies, and sung in Basque which does not resemble with any language. Some of them are about victims of wars around the world, unemployed young people, and others are the atomization of nationalism in Basque Country and so on.

KARTZAROT は北スペインのビルバオ出身のハード／ヘビーロックバンドで、1989年から活動し始めました。デモ盤を3度も出し、10年間も頻繁に演奏活動をしていましたが、1999年に一度解散してしまいます。彼らは、Michael Schenker や NWOBHM の影響を受けていて、US ハードロックや Deep Purple の伝承的サウンドを持つ楽曲を演奏していました。2013年に創設メンバーのギターとボーカルの3人が再会し、新しいラインナップで再スタートします。そして2015年に、ハードロックやヘビーメタル、さらにはバラードまで収録した全7曲入りの、待望のデビューアルバム “Arima Ez Da Galtzen” (魂は永遠なり) をセルフプロデュースでリリースしています。現代社会における社会問題に対する批判を取り上げていて、どの言語とも似ていないといわれる世界的にも珍しい言語バスク語で歌っています。ある曲は世界中で起こっている戦争の犠牲者たちのことや、若者でありながら就業できないことについて、また、ある曲ではバスク地方に対する国の細分化問題などについて歌われています。残念ながら、まだ日本国内での販売はありません。購入ご希望のかたは直接バンドにお問い合わせください。
