DYECREST [Finland]

DYECREST is a Melodic Heavy Metal band from Finland and founded the band in 2001. It was in 1993 when Niko, Jukka, and Pirkka played together for the first time. Their debut album “The Way Of Pain” was released in January 2004, got received very well by the media and the audience, and was followed by a full length European tour supporting W.A.S.P (US) together with DragonForce (UK). After that, despite DYECREST released their second album “This Is My World” in 2005, turned out it had a disappointing result to both the company and the audience. They had a long period of silence while keeping do gigs and write new songs until the band was reformed in 2013. On May 25th, 2018, DYECREST released their long-awaited third album “Are You Not Entertained?” through Inverse Records. Already there have been released two singles from this album. The album was produced by Jussi Jauhiainen and Dyecrest, recorded and engineered by Teemu Velin, mixed by Miitri Aaltonen and mastered by Mika Jussila at the Finnvox studios. It features guest lead vocals such as Björn “Speed” Strid from SOILWORK on a track “First Born Angel” and “Red Alert”, Elisa de Boer on a ballad track “Nuku Vaan”, Piet Sielck and Jan Eckert on choirs.

DYECREST は、2001年結成のフィンランドのメロディック・ヘビーメタルバンドで、Niko と Jukka、 Pirkka の3人が初めて一緒にプレイしたのは1993年のことでした。バンドのデビューアルバム “The Way Of Pain” は2004年1月にリリースされ、メディアや観客からも大好評で、後に英国の DragonForce と共に米国の W.A.S.P をサポートするツアーの全行程に参加しました。DYECREST はその後、2005年に “This Is My World” という2作目を発表しますが、レーベルも観客も満足できる結果にはならず、2013年に再結成されるまでライブを行ったり新曲を作ったりして沈黙の期間を過ごします。そして今年5月25日に待望の3作目アルバム “Are You Not Entertained?” を Inverse Records よりリリースしました。このアルバムからすでに2曲がシングルリリースもされています。日本では下記のオンラインストアにて購入可能です。新作は Jussi Jauhiainen とバンドの共同プロデュースで、Teemmu Velin がレコーディングを Miitri Aaltonen がミキシングを担当していて、マスタリングは The Finnvox Stuios にて Mika Jussila が手掛けています。また、“First Born Angel” と “Red Alert” の曲では SOILWORK の Björn “Speed” Strid がリードボーカルで、バラード曲 “Nuku Vaan” のでは Elisa de Boer が、コーラスパートでは Piet Sielck and Jan Eckert がゲストボーカルとして参加しています。
