HELIX [Canada]

HELIX is a Canada, Ontario-based Hard Rock band formed back in 1974. On June 14th, 2019, the band has released their 14th studio album “Old School” through Perris Records. The album came about quite by accident. A huge box of cassette tapes, which were forgotten, was found in the basement closet. There was at least a whole album of unreleased material, re-recorded it, and put the name of “OLD SCHOOL”. The album was produced by Daryl Gray, mixed by the JUNO Award-winning Siegfried Meier at Beach Road Studios in Goderich, Ontario, and was mastered by Harry Hess of the band Harem Scarem. This album is dedicated to the memory of band guitarist Paul Hackman died by an accident in 1992, who played on 3 of these tracks and was a co-writer on 8 of the tracks. He was/is a Canadian musical icon. For Fans of AC/DC, Aerosmith, and Alice Cooper.

HELIX は1974年結成の、カナダのオンタリオ州を拠点とするベテランのハードロックバンドです。先週6月14日にスタジオアルバムとしては14作目となる “Old School” を Perris Records よりリリースしました。このアルバムは偶然に生まれました。昨年忘れられていたカセットテープの入った大きな箱が地下室の物置部屋から見つかり、その中には少なくともひとつのアルバムに相当する未発表素材があり、それを再収録して “Old School” と名付けたそうです。バンドのベーシスト Daryl Gray のプロデュースで、オンタリオ州 Goderich の Beach Road Studios で JUNO 賞受賞歴のある Siegfried Meier がミキシングを、カナダのバンド Harem Scarem の Harry Hess がマスタリングを行っています。このアルバムは1992年に事故で亡くなったバンドのギタリスト Paul Hackman の思い出に捧げられており、彼はアルバム収録曲のうち3曲を演奏し、8曲を共同制作しています。今でもカナダの音楽界を象徴する人物です。AC/DC や Aerosmith、Alice Cooper などのファンは要チェックです。
